Welcome to the MTIP!

The MTIP is the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program for the Central Lane county area. It is a short range transportation plan that lists important regional projects that we* think we can afford within the next 4 years. It tells how to spend state and federal funds for building transportation projects on-the-ground and for ongoing operating needs.

*Local governments and transit providers in central Lane County work together to plan and coordinate the regional transportation system. Together they form a partnership called the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Lane Council of Governments is the lead agency in this partnership.

The document is a federal requirement but also is an important tool for local policy makers, local agencies, and the general public—it tells how we are going to spend money on the regional transportation system in central Lane County over the next four years.

What is new in the update?

There are 6 new projects in the draft program. They are included in the updated project lists, maps, and financial tables. The draft also carries over projects from the previous program that have not been completed. Due to a number of reasons, including the slow economy, this update of the program has limited new funding for new projects. All of the projects in the draft, including the new ones, reflect funding decisions made as part of another process that must now be listed in this program. The financial analysis in the draft is new as well—it reflects already-committed revenues and expected revenues by each jurisdiction.  A complete copy of the Draft MTIP is available here.
